This is a deck of fortune cards made with AI-generated text that inspires users on their quest to find love. The inspiration behind the visual design and concept of the deck comes from old Zoltar fortune machines. ChatGPT and Meta AI were used to provide descriptions of what they think the ideal human relationship partner looks like and acts like, as well as common red flags among romantic partners. The images were made by giving Adobe’s generative vector software prompts, and then pieces of the AI-generated imagery were incorporated into my own drawings.
This deck of cards simultaneously explores the biases many popular chatbots have as many people have pointed out AI’s issues with diversity: Out of 20 cards, 20 describe individuals with athletic or lean body types, 14 describe more masculine individuals, 8 have European backgrounds, 5 Mediterranean, 3 Caucasian, 2 Latinx, and just 1 African.
