Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer tells the thrilling true story of Chris McCandless, who embarks on a journey across the United States and into the Alaskan wilderness. This has been my favorite book for a long time, so I redesigned the cover with great attention and care. In a plant-identification-book style, I tell the story of his journey through plants he encountered and feature these in the title. His upbringing in Virginia is represented by the Dogwood branch, the second line of text is made from wheat because he worked on a wheat farm halfway through his journey, and the last plant specimen is an Alaskan wild potato plant, which many believe played a part in his untimely death. I also incorporated my own cursive handwriting in areas because he documented his travels in a written diary.
